One of the most cost effective but trickiest upgrade that
you can make in your car is installing the car speakers and subwoofers. It
requires expertise in removing the various panels inside the car and to run the
wires all around in the car to install
car speakers and subwoofers.
It is a step-by-step process that will help you install car speakers and sub-woofers
all by yourself.
How to Set Up Speakers In A Car
Mostly the cars that you buy do not have the speakers
installed at the optimal position. Most of the car manufacturing companies does
not give any thought to the importance of speaker position in the car and its
audio affect.
Getting after market speakers is a better solution as you
get good materials and technology available for a much reasonable rate compared
to the company fitted music systems. But before you replace your factory fitted
speaker all by yourself you must find out and understand the real cause of the
poor sound system that you get.
By understanding the actual fault you will be able to adjust
and rectify the problem you are facing with your factory fitted speakers and
also be able to install your new car speakers to give you great sound. To make
your car speaker sound great you must:
·
Determine and understand the correct parts that
need to be adjusted and connected to the existing car speaker.
·
You will have to be somewhat an expert in
disassembling of the car dashboard, doors, rear decks and other interiors to
make the required connections and changes.
·
You must create and assemble mounts for speakers
that are also safe and secure.
·
When making the installation ensure you check
protection against any kind of vibration or moisture setting in.
·
To get the best and optimum sound out of your
speakers you must ensure proper alignment and “phasing” of the tweeters.
How to Install Car Subwoofers
The addition of subwoofers to the existing car system
improves the sound quality of our system and also adds depth and bass to the
sound. To install the subwoofer you must:
·
Cut the box to size as per the measurement you
took for placing the subwoofers.
·
Create a opening in the box as per the existing
speaker size and add drill holes to mount the subwoofer using mounting screws.
·
Now also pre drill the side panel or the rear
panel in the car and cut a hole so that you can route the speaker wires to the
point where you intend to mount the subwoofer.
·
Now place the terminal cup and fit it using
silicone so that it secured and sealed in its place.
·
Now glue the side panels of the box that you are
going to use for the subwoofer.
·
Also use screws and silicone to create an
airtight box and also apply the carpet to it spreading across the rear and side
panels of the car.
·
In the carpet make some speaker holes by cutting
the carpet. Fold and glue to the inside of the box.
·
Now run the wires from the front panel of the
box to the speaker terminals and the terminal cup.
·
Now fit the subwoofer and use screws to fix it
safely in that position.
Now connect the wires to the subwoofer from the
sound system in the car and get ready to rock.
