The Entertaining Bangladesh vs. England ODI Series 2016

The summer of 2016 has turned out to be a good one for England. England under the captainship of Jos Butler outclassed the likes of Pakistan and Sri Lanka on their home turf. This time however, the team English team riding high on success is now heading to Bangladesh to play the tigers on their home turf.

The Bangladesh vs. England ODI will begin on October 7, 2016.The two teams are set to play 3 one-day internationals and two test. The first Bangladesh vs. England ODI was played on October 7,2016.

The match begins with England winning the toss and electing to bat first.

Cricket fans witnessed a scintillating game of cricket today as it turned out to be close game with all the high voltage drama of a tense match.

England batting first made 309 runs in their 50 overs at the loss of 8 wickets. Jos Butler was the highest scorer for England with 101 runs and Ben Duckett and Moeen Ali scored 60 and 63 runs respectively. Jason Roy gave a solid start to the England team with an opening core of 41 runs.

In the wickets front, Mashrafe Mortaza, Shaiful Islam and Shakib Al Hassan ook 2 wickets each in their respective 10 overs. No other Bangladesh bowlers could have an impact on the in-form England batsman.

Bangladesh started the run chase with an early loss of wicket. Tamim Iqbal as caught out off the bowling of debutant Jake Ball for just 17 runs. For Bangladesh Imrul Kayes hit a century and made 112 runs and was supported well by the only other high scorer for Bangladesh Shakib Al Hassan ho scored 9 run off just 55 balls. No other batsman could make an impact for the home team as they plunged to defeat by being bowled out for 288 runs in 47.5 overs.

England won the opening ODI of the series by 21 runs with debutant Jake Ball making history for England by taking 5 wickets in his debut match. Adil Rashid was the only other England bowler who got wickets. Adil Rashid bowled 9 overs to get his four wickets while one Bangladeshi batsman was run out by the same bowler.

It was a thrilling match as Bangladesh seemed to be cruising along when Shakib and Kayes were batting in the middle. But Jake Ball got the crucial wicket of Shakib Al Hassan to get England back on track as the home side stumbled and the rest of the batting fell like a house of cards.


With this win England continued its winning streak as the debutant England bowler Jake ball was declared Man of The Match for his five wicket haul. He also became the first English player to get a 5-fer in his debut match.
