Good dental care is something that begins from the moment
the child is born. For the newborn child who does not have teeth to show it
does not mean that dental hygiene is not required. The teeth begin to form for
the baby from the second trimester, when they are still in the womb. By the
time they are born they have 20 teeth. Some of these 20 teeth are already fully
formed in the jaw.
To begin with the dental care of the kids, begin with:
·
Cleaning the jaw and gums of the newborn baby
should start even before they begin teething. Running a clean damp to the
baby’s gum helps to prevent any harmful bacteria to remain the mouth.
·
When the teeth’s are visible in your baby’s
mouth start using a toothbrush made especially for infants. Use a American
Dental Association approved fluoride toothpaste with water to brush the baby’s
teeth.
·
Once you see that the teeth of the baby have
begun to touch, start flossing between them.
·
It is important that your child begins to spit
while brushing by the age of two. It is advised not to give water to the kids
to do the same. This may risk in the toothpaste getting in to the child’s
stomach while spitting.
·
If your kid is 3 years of age or above, make
sure that you give only a pea sized toothpaste to them for brushing their
teeth.
·
It is advised by experts that kids below six
should always be supervised while brushing their teeth as there are chances of
them swallowing the toothpaste.
Phoenix Kid's Dentist
advise the parents to set a specific time for the children to drink daily.
This is especially advised for kids who take feed in bottle while they sleep.
Kids six months and over should give up on bottles and shift to sippers and y
12 months they will know how to hold their own cup.
